So, I’m getting around to making my bedroom look a little more presentable. I still have some things to do (like add throw pillows, get some art, and small details)  but I’ll worry about that later. For now, you can kinda get the idea I’m going for. Green, white, leaves, pretty!
I did make a big whoopsie… I bought a dresser without considering the width of the drawers vs. closet doors, so I ended up having to take them off. I don’t regret it for a second! I love my curtains! I’m on a serious budget, so I used a lot of things I already had. For example, I had fabric left over from the background of my portfolio review display from graduating (last year!) and reused them as backgrounds on select cork boards, and also as tie backs for my closet curtains. The color scheme just came from odds and ends I already had: green lamp, gold piggy bank (I’d LOVE to paint my bed frame gold at some point!) white end tables. I ended up buying a duvet cover from IKEA, closet curtains, and a dresser. It’s starting to come together quite nicely!

I love this idea. I’ve owned plenty of places that get chipped some way or another, and this is a really cute way to still have use of them. “There are bowls that cannot be used because of small defects. And there are people around us that need these bowls. Bring Luck was made to make these bowls usable for people who need them, with a little birdie. By sticking the product onto the cracked areas, the bowls can be used even more usefully than new ones.” Beautiful. (Yankodesign)

This is the Ekokook Kitchen by Victor Massip and Laurent Lebot of Faltazi. The kitchen itself focuses on recycling three kinds of waste that are broken down by worms inside the kitchen. I know what you’re thinking.. who wants worms in their kitchen?! But read on, it’s interesting!

The Ekokook has three built-in micro plants for three different recycling functions: solid waste, water cycle, and processing and recycling organic wastes. It also incorporates storage containers for packaging, a reservoir under the sink for collecting water and a container where earthworms break down organic waste.

Don’t worry- where the worms are are sealed off so you don’t get any slimy trails around your house. If you’re interested, you can read more about the Ekokook Kitchen here.

I’m not sure if this is going to be sturdy at all, but it’s a neat idea. It’s like a huge life size pop up book!

“Created by Liddy Scheffknecht and Armin B. Wagner, the “Pop Up” is an office you can take your office anywhere you can carry a giant piece of cardboard. The 94 x 275 x 200 cm installation, which is designed by by Liddy Scheffknecht and Armin B. Wagner, is entirely made of cardboard and tape. The entire structure folds into a portable flat panel.”
